Hugo storms to a new PB in the Welsh Championships

Team Salesengine.co.uk fast man Hugo Hocknell made the long trip to Wales to compete in the Welsh National Championships 25 at the weekend, and returned with a stonking new PB and a top 30 placing.

The weather was far from kind with a brisk wind and a lot of rain on the course, but this didn't stop Hugo from slicing a scarcely believeable 3:20 from his PB to record 55:48 for 27th place.

This was a simply staggering ride, and a great result.

Dave Wentworth clocks his 5th fastest ever 10

Dave Wentworth and David Ledgerton became the latest members of the team to sample the delights of the super fast F11/10 on the Tring bypass at the Hemel Hempstead CC event on Saturday.

On the day they were greeted by a really strong 20 mph winds, so fast times didn't really look on the cards.

But our intrepid duo seemed impervious to the conditions, and Dave Wentworth in particular rode out of his skin to record 22:47, the second fastest 10 of the year for the team, and Dave's 5th fastest ever time over the distance.

David Ledgerton also rode well, recording his fastest time of the season as well with a 25:17.

Father and Son Stuart and Hugo Hocknell were out competing at the Fenland Clarion 10 at a very windy Sawtry in Cambridgeshire on Saturday afternoon.

With Sam Hayes fighting his way back from a chest infection Hugo has proven to have the upper hand in the last few months, but all in the team are looking forward to seeing how the rapid duo progess in the second half of the year.

A little behind Hugo was his Dad Stuart who overcame the tough conditions on the exposed course to clock 30:47 on a day that was tough enough to put a number of riders outside of the 30 minute mark.

Braving the elements at the Beds Road 10

Rumour has it that the F15/10 at Brogborough is a quick course, but this is proving very hard to substantiate as it always seems to be blowing a gale when events are on it.

This proved the case again this week when 5 members of the team headed out into the 18mph winds to try and clock a quick time.

Sam Hayes proved most adept in the conditions, storming down the first hill at 45 mph and going to record a superb 23:27, to put clear distance between him and Steve Robinson who was next qui
