Hot conditions and strong winds greeted the five members of the Team Salesengine.co.uk team at round three of the Northampton and district association event at Lamport in Northamptonshire. The course took the riders round 20.8 miles of tough hills and rough road surfaces.
Quickest of the team (by a huge margin) was Hugo hocknell who smashed round the course in just 51:02 to take 11th place on the day and move him up to 4th in the overall standings.
The race for the next quickest in the team couldn't have been closer with Steve Robinson and Sam Hayes matching each other with 54:53 to share 27th place. As Sam would normally be battling Hugo on time it's a sign of the impact his chest infection has had on his times. Steve's ride moves him up to 16th place in the series from 23rd.
Paul King ran Steve and Sam unbelievably close on the day with his time of 54:55, which will keep him well in the hunt for a top 20 in the overall at the end of the year, and Stuart Hocknell (who gives away 23 years to the next oldest of the team on the day) was next in with his creditable ride of 1:11:27.
